This is a polaroid picture. I take one every time I finish a painting. We live in an age where people don’t print off photos anymore. Its really nice to have something to remember your past by.

About ME

I’m Sidney and I’ve been creating since I was 5, or even younger. Maybe it runs in the family. My dads a carpenter and has a flare for stained glass work and birdhouses in his free time. My mom was interested in art when she was younger, and my sister and I have been doing it our whole lives.

I’m self taught, having no formal training today at the age of 25. The exception here is earlier education. Through high school I took every art class I could and had a very supportive teacher. (Shoutout to her, what a lovely woman) today, I am an experimenter. I’m eager to learn and to try things and I’ve dabbled in many accessible mediums. Oils are my going favorite for paintings. Alternatively I like to do detailed pencil sketches finished with watercolor, and I would like to do more large scale charcoal, pastel, or mural style pieces as well as I move forward.

As a day job I work as a picture framer. It scratches both my carpentry itch as well as my love for art. Its a very useful skill to me and it feeds into my artistic passion as well, giving me the skills I need to properly handle my own work and allows for good networking opportunities. Its a job that fits harmoniously together with my actual passions, and personality.
